About

Join us at Reno2020 for the greatest annual gathering of the geothermal community.

The GRC’s Annual Meeting & Expo is the geothermal industry’s flagship annual conference, reflecting the global nature of the geothermal industry with representation from 33 countries, 240 companies, and 40 universities at our last meeting in Reno in 2018.

The conference highlights the width and breadth of the community we have in geothermal energy spanning science, engineering, social-economics, and government, and highlights the eclectic mix of people that are involved: students, corporate entrepreneurs, politicians, professionals and researchers. We also welcome anybody interested in renewable energy to join us to learn more about the most important clean energy that will form the backbone of society’s energy transition by providing 24/7 always-on electricity and heat management.

The four-day event offers technical, policy, and market conference sessions, educational seminars, tours of local geothermal and renewable energy projects, and numerous networking opportunities. Our premier technical program highlights the importance of geothermal in the energy mix, not just in electricity generation but also in direct use of heat for district heating and industrial applications, and geothermal heat pumps in residential and commercial buildings.

Our 3-day Expo presents exhibitors with the opportunity to maximize their exposure at the largest annual geothermal gathering in the world. It provides ample opportunities for engaging with partners and clients. As well as our formal program there are plenty of opportunities for side meetings and corporate events that have become a hallmark of the show. The conference is well known for these high-level side meetings with many big-budget projects signed and sealed within our walls. Great care is taken during the management of the schedule and facilities to accommodate the needs of our individual members and corporations in the event planning.

The Annual Meeting is a gathering of our community and our membership. It’s an opportunity for everybody to engage, to learn, to do business, and to contribute to the direction of the geothermal industry. The corporate flavor also contributes through our many sponsors and through the mix of attendees knowledge, experience and expertise from across the geothermal industry. Our social activities network everybody together across our community of industry, academia, government, and public alike, and facilitate those big project ideas or new research to be born.

For the general public, be sure to attend the Geothermal 101 presentation and tours of the Expo hall featuring the largest geothermal corporations in the world. Everybody is welcome, so please come along and learn more about the best energy inside your world!
